Background: Projects and Processes

I love solving problems, and instructional design projects allow me to solve problems using processes informed by research, discovery, and practical experience. I favor the Agile approach to instructional design, which means that I value the unique context of each project and remain flexible and responsive to my client’s needs. I’ve consulted on many different projects, bringing a strong set of instructional design and program development skills to the table.

My design experience extends across community, professional, government, and non-profit organizations. My background in adult education and learning sciences provides a solid foundation for developing learning experiences for various audiences. I utilize evidence-based approaches to provide an engaging and effective product. It is my goal to create educational experiences that are interactive, appealing, and accessible. I value quality design aesthetics balanced with carefully scaffolded activities and opportunities.

Program development, professional training, and community education are specific passions of mine. I enjoy working with organizations to clarify goals and develop strategies for reaching and assessing the project's impact. I can facilitate your project development from the initial needs assessment through implementation and project evaluation.

I am confident in developing face-to-face, hybrid, and distance learning experiences. I can navigate the entire program development and delivery design process, including content curation, project mapping, activity organization, assessment, and evaluation. I’m skilled at ensuring that content is accessible to all learners, and I promote equity in learning design.
